| Welcome to MAPPA, the Maryland Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates. We represent prevention experts throughout the state of Maryland. Our membership includes state and private industry professionals, consultants, and community volunteers. Our vision is to unite and empower prevention professionals within Maryland to promote and protect health and wellness across the lifespan primarily by preventing, delaying and reducing the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, as well as the prevention of associated risky behaviors such as violence and injury, crime, academic failure, DWI/DUI and young parenthood. Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles for all Maryland residents while preventing abuse of alcohol, tobacco or other harmful substances and associated risky behaviors across the lifespan. |
